How we work
Four movements,
no surprises
No scope creep, no silence between stages. You will always know what is happening on your site this week and what happens next.

The four stages in detail

01
Consultation
Week 1 · No fee
We visit your site, measure it ourselves and spend two hours understanding how your household actually runs. You leave with an honest budget band, a realistic timeline and a written scope — before any money changes hands.
This is a working session, not a sales call. We want to know who cooks, who works from home, where the family actually gathers in the evening, and what irritated you about the last place you lived. We also say the difficult thing early: if your budget and your brief do not meet, you will hear it in this meeting rather than at the third revision.
What you receive
- Independent site measure — we do not rely on the builder's drawing
- Written scope of work
- Honest budget band, with the assumptions behind it stated
- Realistic programme, including the weeks that will be disruptive
What we need from you
A floor plan if you have one, your possession or move-in date, a rough budget range, and any images that describe the feeling you are after. None of it is mandatory.

02
Design
Weeks 2–6
Layouts, elevations, 3D walkthroughs and a physical material board you can hold. Two rounds of revision are built in. Nothing goes to the factory until you have signed the drawing and the line-item BOQ.
We test three or four plan options against how you actually move through a day before committing to one. Only once the plan is settled do we choose finishes — proportion before finish, always. The material board is physical: you carry it to the window and see the veneer in your own daylight, not in a render.
What you receive
- Three to four tested layout options with circulation diagrams
- Elevations and detailed joinery drawings
- 3D walkthroughs of the principal rooms
- A physical material board — stone, veneer, textile, metal, paint
- Four-tier lighting plan on separate circuits
- Line-item BOQ with rates locked for the contract term
What we need from you
Consolidated feedback at each of the two review rounds, and a signature on the final drawing set and BOQ. Decisions made here are inexpensive; the same decisions made in week fourteen are not.

03
Execution
Weeks 7–18
Joinery is manufactured in our workshop while civil, ceiling and services work runs on site. One project manager, weekly photo reports, a live schedule you can open on your phone, and a site you are welcome to walk any day.
Running the workshop and the site in parallel is what compresses the programme. While the wardrobes are being cut, the ceilings and the wiring are going in. Every panel is drawn as a shop drawing before it is cut, and work passes five quality gates — layout, carcass, installation, finish and snag — each signed off before the next trade is allowed to start.
What you receive
- Civil work, false ceilings, electrical and plumbing coordination
- In-house manufacture of all modular joinery
- Weekly photo reports and a live shared schedule
- Five quality gates, each signed off before the next trade begins
- Written approval sought before any variation reaches your invoice
What we need from you
Availability for a site walk when a gate is reached, and prompt sign-off on any variation. You are welcome on site any day — no appointment, no minder.

04
Handover
Final week, then 30 / 90 / 365 days
Deep clean, styling, a joint snag walk and a bound handover file: warranties, appliance manuals, paint codes, fabric references and service contacts. We return at 30, 90 and 365 days to check the house has settled well.
A handover is not a set of keys. We snag the house with you rather than for you, and nothing is signed off until your list is closed, not ours. The bound file matters more than clients expect: three years on, when a wall needs touching up or a shutter needs matching, the paint code and the veneer batch are written down.
What you receive
- Deep clean and full styling before you walk in
- Joint snag walk — your list, closed before sign-off
- Bound handover file: warranties, manuals, paint codes, fabric references
- Manufacturer warranties registered on your behalf
- Scheduled revisits at 30, 90 and 365 days
What we need from you
An unhurried couple of hours for the snag walk. Bring the most critical member of the household — they always find the thing we missed.
Quality control
Five gates,
each signed off
No trade is allowed to start until the previous gate has been cleared. It is slower on paper and considerably faster in practice, because nothing has to be opened up and redone.
- Layout gate — setting out checked against the signed drawing before any fixing.
- Carcass gate — joinery boxes checked for square, level and service cut-outs.
- Installation gate — alignment, shutter gaps and hardware operation.
- Finish gate — polish, paint, edge quality and colour consistency under site lighting.
- Snag gate — joint walk with you; your list closed before sign-off.

Movement one
costs you nothing
The first consultation is free, on your site, and ends with a written scope and an honest budget band. Design fees only begin once you appoint us.
